Freya

Freya is an older Thoroughbred mare who came to us with a large group of horses who's owner was unable to care for them anymore. She was in poor condition when she arrived, with a foal at foot. Freya's foal was weaned and has since been rehomed, but she is one of our permanent "Golden Oldie" fosters who will be with us for the rest of her days. 

She has an old injury to her eye socket, we believe from back in her racing days. She is a sensitive soul and doesn't enjoy pressure to the face so we are careful with how she is handled and managed because of this. 

Despite some hardships in her life, Freya is now looking pretty fabulous. She lives her life in foster care with another older mare and they are a great pair. We are currently working to rectify a large split in one hoof, but with a shortened trim cycle and some good management this will be well under control in no time.
